Simple Ways To Make Your Rooms Look Bigger

Do you feel minimized even after buying your own homes in Thrissur? Not everyone will be able to buy the big residence for a stay because of financial constraint. The rooms may not be that wide to move around freely, but there are some tactics that can help in making the rooms footage appear bigger than it really is.

  • Space It Out:
Pushing the furnitures, beds and sofas to the edge of the wall doesn't promises a wide space surround. Instead try moving  to the living room will add to the comfort of the residents.

  • Paint With Light Colors:
While painting your rooms, avoid using any dark hues because it can result in looking less spacious, apart from light colors such as white, grey, cream, blue etc, which can give a sense of more space available.

  • Use Multifunctional Pieces:
Furniture that is a decorative item along with serving many other functionality to your room. But may hinder most of the portion due to its non elasticity. Try an alternative instead. Use a vintage steamer trunk or a large box that can fill many of the things like clothes, books etc, that utilising the space.

  • Affix Mirrors:
Mirrors are a quick and simple way to have a feel of extensive look. For that you need not affix them on each wall instead either lean them vertically to get a long angle view to the room or hang multiple mirrors on the walls similar to that of a salon.

  • Fold It Up:
If the area around your dining table is less, buy those furnitures which can be folder or pushed inside when not in use. This can save a lot of space in the dining room.

  • Single Shade:
Paint the wall with a monochromatic color meaning that same shades of color should be used to decorate the rooms like white or off white. White coloured walls with a pale grey hue on the basement can be a good match.

The Pros and Cons Of Home Automation

With the increasing popularity of home automation, numerous companies have been bringing affordable smart home products into the market. People are investing in smart home devices such as automatic coffee maker, thermostat, home security system to make their homes a bit smarter and more convenient. As with most things smart homes too have it’s advantages and disadvantages. After careful reading, you too can make a decision whether or not you want to invest in a smart home.

The Pros

  • Convenience: When you are away from home, no matter where you are you can control your home and all the devices programmed to your specific needs. Forgetting to turn off your lights or other appliances will no longer be a problem.
  • Customization: There are tons of smart products in the market and you don’t need all of them. The ability to choose what you need is a great advantage of home automation with the wide variety of smart devices. Thermostats or a home security system is the obvious choice to start with if you’re new to the home automation market.
  • Ease of use: Almost all smart home devices can be installed without any hassles. Most of them can be installed by yourself and don’t need to get other people involved. Learning how to use them is easy if someone who is tech savvy.
  • Money savings: Your smart home devices have a timer and turn on/off options so you’ll be able to control them when you’re away from home as well. This will reduce your electricity bill a lot and you can also track your energy usage and expenditures.
  • Security: With the increasing use of surveillance cameras, motion detectors, locks etc. remote monitoring your home has never been so easy. You will be notified if anything out of the ordinary happens. Most of these security systems also warn you with temperature changes so you’ll be alerted if there’s a possible fire.
  • Energy savings: Energy efficiency is another great feature of having a smart home. Automated thermostats let you pre-program temperatures based on what time of day it is. Some of them even learn and adapt to your temperature preferences where you don’t need to input a schedule. Actual energy savings depend on the type of device you select and it’s automation capabilities

The Cons

  • Equipment and installation costs: The cost of your smart home equipment and their installation charges will make the total cost. If your smart home device is more advanced the cost of the device and it’s installation charge will be a lot since it has more features.
  • Human errors: If your smart home device kit isn’t properly handled or if you/your installer uses incorrect keys to perform the operations, you get human errors in your device. Human errors often lead to system crash or unwanted preference settings.
  • System crash: The rupture of cables or the fibres can result in a system crash or in the cases of radio or other signals if any problem is introduced in the signal receiving, that will also result in a system crash.
  • Reliability: Reliability of the home automation system devices varies. Your smart home devices depend heavily on your internet connection and if your connection drops or if the signal strength is less you’d be left with lots of devices that don’t work. Interference from other electronic equipment can also result in your smart products working slowly or not at all.
